Suzuki 2 Strokes

Gary Nixon passed away today from complications of a heart attack on July 29th. I got his autograph at Mid-Ohio during the AHRMA days. He was quite the unusual man but he was very open to people. He rode both Suzukis and Kawasakis as well as other brands.

God speed Gary.

I kept thinking how cool it would have been this year to have him do a few laps on a Kawasaki as grand marshal.

We were lucky enough to meet him a couple of times and when my G/F smashed her leg racing at Grattan, Craig Breckon dragged Gary in to visit her after the op and that was a really nice touch. Whether he would have chosen to or not, he came and visited and in the final analysis it's what a man does rather than what he says that counts. And he did a lot.
