It was a brilliant day, wasn't it? The queues to get across the bridge to the paddock were HUGE so I didn't bother, but it was fantastic to see Granty, Roberts and Baker on track, not to mention Stan Woods' TR750 which sounded great.
I timed Mick Grant on a couple of laps, he did two 50-second laps in a row, which is bloody quick for a parade

The only guy who was faster was Terry Rymer on the Duckhams Norton rotary, he did a 49s!
Lovely to see Baker and Roberts winding it up too. That OW31 of Baker's was
SO quick, he was just p-i-s-s-i-n-g past everyone on the back straight, until he caught Kenny that is, and Kenny was NOT going to let anyone get away from him
At an Oliver's Mount meeting a few years back, I was chatting to Tommy Robb about parading. He said everyone goes out with the intention of just having a canter around, then someone would go past, the old red mist would descend and he would think "I'm not having that" and wind it on
