Another day in paradise (not)

Post by MikeH1A »

The good news was that the Boss gave us half a day off today! The not so good news was that it was because of a swarm of F.....n earthquakes. We got jabbed by a 5.5 magnitude around 1pm and then walloped by a 6.0 magnitude at 2.30pm. (Writing this at 8.30pm and another small aftershock just hit :x ). More of the CBD has become toast, with further buildings coming down - there is a list of around 1000 buildings needing to be demolished in there due to our earlier rock n roll parties. Today, 47000 homes have no power, streets are flooded and tons of liquefaction is oozing out of the ground. This has been happening off and on since September 2010. We're getting a little sick of it down here I can tell you.

On the positive side, none of the bikes fell over (don't you just love those massive centre stands on the Buffalos? ) and my NOS rear footpegs arrived in the post.

Hope you guys are havin a better day.

... and here I was complaining that my flight to Adelaide was cancelled because of dust or solar flares or bad karma or something.

Glad to hear that you (and from the news just now, all your countrymen) are OK. Really tough times over there.

Glad to hear you and the bikes survived, Mike. I was unaware that you were going through another rock and roll session until I turned on the news this morning. Apparently you're also getting some kind of ash plume from some volcano in Chile, too. Some days it just doesn't pay to get out of bed.....
