Anyone care to share their experiences on this? In southern Florida, a title transfer and new tag will cost you the princely sum of around $350.00 per bike.
It takes about five minutes in total for your local tag agency to perform this act on your wallet.

Hey Allan, sounds like highway robbery to me. In Michigan it costs $16 for plate transfer plus 6% of whaterver you paid for the bike and most don't take anything but cash so if you brought just barely not enough you have to excuse yourself to go to the bank and then wait in line all over again. With the state's recent budget cuts most of our local Secretary of State offices closed which means we have to wait an hour or more in line at the few that are still open. At $350 it sounds like people in Florida have it a lot worse than us in Michigan though.

Rolling that figure off the top of my head, I was off by a few dollars, so I will break it down to the true and corrected figures.
Transfer title , Sales tax $154.00, state $73.50, county $4.75, agency $18.00, original reg sales tax $0.00, state $59.90, county $3.00, agency $5.00 = $318.15
Now thats more like it.

Got to love FL. Don't miss Altamonte Springs anymore. Sis still lives in Sanford. Here in VA a title transfer and tag for my bike is roughly $85. More to that in taxes if it's a newer bike. Even my Metros are only roughly $85 too. Of course they are basically a Suzuki four wheeler.

WV-Title transfer $15.00. 6% sales tax on whatever the bike cost. Tags, $16 dollars a year. Proof you paid last years personal property tax. Pinky cost me around $180 to put on the road.
