When I added my T500 to my existing motorcycle policy (basic coverage only as needed to register the bike) it increased my premium by a whopping $17 per year.

I believe I pay in the area of $200 for basic coverage on my ZRX1100 and my wifes Honda 400 through progressive. No rate increases since we bought the policy.
edit............. I just pulled the policy $95 for the Honda and $97 for the Kawasaki. That's minimum with stacked coverage on the uninsured/underinsured motorist.

My old bikes are all insured for minimum legal coverage at ~$110.00 each per year. My rates are low because I'm in a huge group through my wife's former employer. One of the bennies for retirees.....
Alberta has government funded coverage for the uninsured motorist problem.....but YOU pay to fix your bike first and then try to collect from the government if you're hit by an uninsured driver. It can get messy and can take a while before you get paid out but if your claim is reasonably legitimate, you WILL get your money back.

I went back to Progressive. $190 as opposed to Foremost $230. I'm in. Did it all over the phone. Verifications coming via email.
This a better policy as well. Includes comprehensive and collision.

When I started riding again several years ago Nationwide quoted me $700 for liability only on a 76 550. Went with Dairyland, it was a little over $300 for the same. When I bought the 750, they wanted to double the price for coverage of both bikes.

I told them that doesn't make sense, I can only ride/wreck one at a time.
Shopped around and found I could get full coverage on both of them from Progressive, with agreed upon values of $2500, and $3000 respectively for around $270 a year.
I could get cheaper, but I like the full coverage, and if I go with claiming it as a classic bike, there are driving restrictions.
It pays to shop around a bit.

I looked at various insurers for the 1200 Bandit and CBR900 in southern Florida. Out of the places I checked, Progressive still has the best prices which hover around $150.00 for the bare minimum coverage upwards to $300.00 plus for more coverage per bike.
Naturally having more than one bike covered helps drop the rate a bit as well too.
