Questions people ask.

I often get interesting questions at my website message page, here is one I was asked recently from a person obviously looking for a FREEBIE. Do they honestly think anyone is going to tell them how to do the work when its a service you're providing?

"I HAVE A 1972 GT-750 HOW DO YOU REMOVE THE PLASTIC HOUSING ON THE GAUGES I WOULD LIKE TO FIX THEM BUT AFRAID THAT ILL BRAKE THEM THANKS ******.

I replied to him saying I can remove the covers for them at a cost so they can do all the work themselves, but after that its not my concern.
I'd suggest they check the difference between the words break and brake, but I didn't bother going that route.

you guys want too much to fix it...

i usually reply...spend several thousands on special tools/test instruments..go to school and get your basic education in the field ... then add 20 yrs experience to it along w a parts stocked van to show up at your house..expensive ??

if i get lip after that..i say it sounds broken to me..good luck

i KNOW my heat and ac WORK FINE...lol

Don't even get me started on that topic, especially automobile A/C, I've been doing them since 1983 and customers are just too ignorant as to whats involved.
Their favourite phrase is usually, "cant you just put in some gas"??
Now these ARE the real experts, they know everything but somehow cant fix it, amazing.

Yeap Know what you mean on the Heat and Air Deal.Being a Handyman I know what you guys go thru.I just Know enough to get me in trouble though. At my Houses I will call and Ask the repair man and Ask Nicely if they will walk me thru on patching it together until they can get there.Of course they know they better help me out because we work for some High Dollar Clients.Frozen Pipes in 2 Million Dollars House usually leads to Unemployment. I had one brand new Gas Unit Bite the Dust all of a sudden.Come to find out the Guys that Installed it didn't convert it to Propane.the Gas Company came to Light it.It lit OK. It burnt out the Heat exchanger.Several 40-50 Mile trips One way and they finally replaced the Heat Exchanger. They still walked me thru on Keeping it Lit for a few days until they got another unit tore apart for Spare parts.

Yeap Allan they Know nothing about Leak Checks and Vaccum do they.

or the ones that forget to change air filters in furnace....till i find its SO clogged w crap the furnace is going off
on high limit due to no airflow across heat exchanger.....

you are going to charge me just for changing a filter ????
yes...its the cause of your problem...
do you have to charge me ??
lets see..
i spent 20 min driving here...
costs gas,insurances,wages...yes i must charge you..
strangely we are in the buisness to make money..driving around to change your filter for free
somehow dont pay the bills...

and then the ones who wait till you are done on the call to say...i dont have any money NOW...can i pay you next week ....

ohhhh...im getting started....lol
