Real P!$$er
I Ordered New tires for my F150 a couple of weeks ago because the Bridgestones i had Wally World put on last year was just a little too worn to hold in this Snow we've been getting. When i got the Tires I took them to the neighborhood Used Car Dealer that I've known for years.Well the Second Tire that he took off I noticed that the rim was Bent.........Yes Bent.I started getting pissed and didn't say anything because I thought he was the one that bent it and He was giving me a really good deal to Mount and Balance them.I figured if he said that he done it he would make it right and replace the rim for me.After he took it off of the Changer he looked and said that it was bent.We looked it and the tire over really good we found out that the Service guys at Wally world had bent it.The Lip on the Back of the Lip had been folded in over 5 Inches inward and was touching the inside of the rim. They didn't even bother to take the Old weights off.I really don't understand how the tire had Beaded on it and Kept from Leaking Air or blowing off and getting me and whoever was riding with me killed. If i had known that it was bent (How i missed it since i replaced the Brakes on the front of my truck 2 months ago????) I would have taken it back to Wally world and demanded a new rim.Since it had already been broken down I knew there wouldn't have been any use they would have put the blame on the guy that Broke it down.My truck had a really bad Wobble at 60-65 MPH and I just thought it was from a Broke Belt in the tire since this country is Paved with Potholes.Anyway it took us the best part of 2 hours to get the lip beat back out until i could find a new rim.
Everybody if you get your Tires or anything else done at Wally World watch very closely.I'm not giving the service center any business or the rest of the store as far as that goes.

Jughead, just my two cents worth, but I would like to give 'cyclebuster' the benefit of the doubt. I think he was royally giving you a ribbing, not really dissing for real. IF IT WAS for real, let it go..... it is simply is not worth the blood pressure rise, etc. There is more good people on this board than bad, every family has a black sheep. Just a fact of life. So don't leave the board, that has been done and that person is sorely missed. If it was for real, just ignore it and carry on as normal, we all will benefit. 'Cyclebuster' may have had a very bad day and was lashing out, the way things are right now, there is probably a lot of that going 'round. Glad things have gotten some better for you, I guess your new lady is an excellent cook since you have gained some weight, there is always indoor 'exercises' that help with that.......

Re: Real P!$$er
FYI, and not about to argue or point, but my son worked at a Walmart tire center for nearly a year and he and everyone there took the job very seriously. He is now Management. Walmart is so strict they will not even change a trailer tire if the replacement one is too old, or shows XS wear or cracking.
And this is policy at all Walmarts, i have been rejected service on tires several times over the road, on safety issues. I also doubt the bead machine has the nuts to do that, since its OSHA air restrictors are or should be in place.
I will allow if someone has modified the tire machine it could do that, but if its walmarts, heads would roll if this was discovered. What you describe is the end of employment at WalMart, for the person that did it and concealed it, and who ever jacked the machine up. And yes i was harsh and off the trail a ways. The walmarts i have seen and observed work on a straight and narrow line and there isnt any room for discussion.
In fact at my sons store last week a customer came in with only 9 lug nuts. Total. 3 on one wheel and 2 on the rest, and NO studs in the empty holes. They refused to even touch it and pushed it out the door, as nobody was allowed to drive it. This was a sale of 4 new tires. And my final point is if this was done demounting, how did it ever hold air? How did it go on the narrow rim lands? Either way, sorry for the indisgression.

Really Buster I don't know. The new tire that he put on Seated and Held air for 30 Minutes without leaking down before he took the tire back off so we could straighten the lip of the rim.Not saying that it wouldn't have leaked down over a Longer period of 30 Minutes.I did have a slow leak in one of my tires.I'm sure it was that one.I have the wheel sensors and it will let me know if a tire is low.usually at 1-2 Pounds. The tire that was low was Always within 1-2 pounds and it was within 5-7 Days of putting Air in my tires and using the same Tire gauge.I wrote it off as a Pinhole in the tire itself.
Really this store refused to rotate my Dads tires at the 2nd 6000 mile rotation so he took them to the Next Wally World store where they were more than glad to Rotate and even check the Balance on the tires when he told them he was getting some Vibration. They found that the Wheels were counter Balanced using other weights in various places on the rim and they asked which store had done the Installation. They told dad that that was Against Wally World policy and added that whoever done it could loose their job.I'm not saying that All Wally World Stores are like that.Just this One.I won't get into the Details of the Antifreeze Drainage over a small Quarrel.Luckily the straight water was found before any Damage was done.
Yes I'm sure that the tire Changers aren't designed to Be able to Bend rims.If that was the case I'm sure that we would Hear of more rims being replaced BUT most Changers that I have seen are only designed for 16" or Smaller Rims at least the Older one that the guy that Changed my tires has.He did know to pry out on the Lower Breaker since mine has 17" rims.He Drives a Newer Model Chevy with 17's and has sold many Trucks with 17" and 18" rims the past few years that he has Personally changed the tires on.A car Doesn't leave his lot without New Tires. That's the reason I asked him to Change them because he knows what he is doing.
New Guy with a Bad Hangover on an Older Model Changer? Changer Hopped up? I don't know????? I just know that the Original Wheel Weights from the Factory was on the Bent portion of the Rim.The ones Wally World installed came off with the tire that was on it.

Yeah, if all companies followed all the rules all the time, OSHA would be sitting on it's thumbs. The truth is too many try to get away with what they can. Walmart head quarters may have strict rules, it doesn't mean all their shops follow them..............

True.I remember when i was in School.the day that OSHA was coming to Inspect the Shops we would go thru the Shops and reinstall all of the Guards on all of the Saws and Fix up what was wrong.the Only thing that the School got wrote up for was an Ancient Fridge that the Shop teachers kept their Lunch in.When the OSHA Inspector grabbed the Door it lit him up because it had a bad Ground and He had the Wrong Shoes on.lol
As far as that out of all of the Other Jobs that I have worked on OSHA has never Shown up.I know I haven't got as many Years as some of you guys but I have worked at a lot of Different things in my 20 some odd Years of working. What Very Few Jobs....actually the Only job I've ever Heard of getting an Inspection from OSHA was my Friends Logging Operation. All they Had to have was Chaps and Helmets with Face Shields and Hearing Protection. He Also had a warning as when they were coming.I'm sure the Big Companies also get the same warning as when the Inspectors are going to Show up.I'm sure the Big Companies Have a Lot more Pull than the Small guys too.$$$$
