Nice looking 72 with less than 10k on the clock

I'm going to pick up a GT380 with 15k miles on it and a broken exhaust stud tomorrow for 250 bucks. If I could retire early I would probably do a bike every other week (of course I've got 32 years until retirement, so I'll probably be fixing up old hyabusas then).

Ahhhh.....yes.....but that's not a motorcycle, it's....
A TRUE CLASSIC TWOSTROKE INVESTMENT
so the seller can charge more for it.

Lovely.....the punters are soon separated from their money.....as predicted by P.T. Barnum....or someone.....
So the motorcycle world has moved away from actual motorcycling, as such, and instead has "investments" (certain Japanese and Italian bikes) and "lifestyles" (H-D owning bankers/dentists/accountants/etc).
See me shaking my head in amazement ???

Thank Heaven I will probably not live to see our sport subjected to ultimate trivialization by wankers.

On the up side, there are still people like Allen (h20kettle) out there showing the world what REAL motorcycling is all about.
I've also heard about certain cruiser riders actually riding high mileages....but I've dismissed those stories as urban myths.

you only have to look what happened to the British bikes.
about 7/10 years ago the prices of old Brits bike sky rocketed.
every body that thought it'll be a good investment till
5 years or so the bottom fell out.
some guys here lost a small fortune.
now a good old British now fetch any where between £2000/£6000 accepts for the likes of Brough's superior ,some velocet, vincent etc etc.
its only a matter of time when all these old folks have gone(us) the same will happen to these.

Its only what the market can bear and then the bottom falls out of it till it slowly fixes itself and the prices start to rise again. I wish them luck; I'll go riding and enjoy myself while they think about their latest costly acquisition.
