Suzuki 2 Strokes

Anyone else following these guy's exploits, riding their two 1930's Nimbus sidehacks around the world ?



They left Norway in April 2009, and have driven across Russia arriving in North America mid-November - then across the mountains and mid-west in the winter !! Definitely are having an adventure - check out the blog. Looks like they have made it to Chicago. I bought a T-shirt to offer a bit of support from here.

I would love to do a trip like that, anyone with a 1972 T350 who wants to join? If it has std. bore 305 cyllinders it would be perfect...
Actually the younger of the two guys works at the same place as my brother.

They've been in contact with the NYC Vinmoto guys and plan on being in NYC the weekend of January 22-24 for the Cycle World show.....

Now that's ballsy. Talk about the adventure of a lifetime.

Im with Lane, But it would make for a great set of tales to pass around the garage.

if you live tell the tales.
i fancied doing the continental divide on a suzy dual sport.
but it pails by comparision.

I got the series with Ewan Mcgregor and Charlie Boorman for Christmas... a great look at a long ride... I am watching long way round right now... I think I would have been hanging it up about the 2nd day in mongolia... but it would be a great adventure...

well ewan and charlie did it with 3 support vehicles a doctor and god knows what else....I reckon even I could do it with their support and sponsorship.

These Nimbus guys are doing far more on old machinery.

I've ridden a Nimbus...great old straight fours....very innovative frame and smooth motor.

Based on the latest photos, the bikes have really taken a beating but they are in Vermont after taking a loop up from Chicago into Ontario. Both engines need to be rebuilt over the next couple of weeks before they head out again.

Here's a link with more info for those who happen to be in the area. They will be giving insights 'from the best in class how bad planning, even worse execution, and low budget can be defeated by stubbornness and ignorance of common sense.' Sounds like a few IT projects I can recall being involved with before I retired !

Those Nimbus riders have my deep respect and admiration for what they're doing. Big cojones, for sure.

However, those two TV wankers are a whole 'nother story.....Grrrrrrrr

So I've been thinkin'... Long Way to the Gap... All I need is all of you to send me say... 30 Dollars each for sponsorship and I will ride the buffalo to the Gap.... and I will need a chase vehicle... LOL
