I need a little help. I've made some rear sets for my GT550. I would like to make some for all the GT's. Ive got a friend with a 750 I can use for a mock up, but I would like to see the frame of A 380 so I can see if the passenger pegs mount up the same way as on the 550. If someone could help me out that would be great. Thanks

Hmmmm....the Buffalo Guy's wife has a 380 and Triple Rocky has 2 or 3 of them......but how they differ from the 550 is a good question. I've never really taken a look at the differences. It would be spring before I could ride over to the Buffalo Guy's place on my 550 and compare it to his wife's 380...
but I'm guessing that you want to find the info before then ???

that is the cleanest drive chain & sprockets I have seen for a LONG time

I also love those A-spec front mudguards, they look so good.

I spent some at Jon's house on saturday, (big hole) and found out that my rear sets will fit a 550 and 750 as well. but they wont fit the model year 72 because of the mounting location.

If the passenger peg mounts share the exhaust mount, they wont work. They need the later model year with separate mounting holes. I think its 73 and later.

That pic of the 380, which is superb by the way, helps a little, but can i get a pic of the foot peg itself. if it has the squared notch on peg and frame, it will work. thanks for the help guys.

Are you sure? It seems to me that the footpeg mount is much lower and further forwards on a 380 versus a 750.

On a 74 on at least (750) the peg main bolt is right behind the brake pivot. It looks as if the main bolt on a 750 may be in the same position as the smaller rear bolt on a 380. The left side with square peg is directly below the swingarm pivot.

So it looks like the left sides are the same across models, but the rights are different.

Im talking about the passenger pegs. Just in front of the Exhaust mount location. My rear sets mount in the notched passenger peg location and move it forward 2 inches and up 1 inch to clear the exhaust better and comfort.

Ah so. I figured from the questions about the square peg hole, that you were bolting part of it to the front one.

I see that it's not the case, so no worries.

BTW, is that a little flat I see ground on the lower surface of that pipe?

And why yes that is a flat spot on the pipe.
I didnt put it there, I bought the pipes used and it was already there.

Im guessing thats how the pipes became available. Just a hunch....

Nope, Craig, those are B and later fenders. The A's still had the lower stay and the actual fender was shaped quite differently. Just thought you'd like to know for your next bar-betting session......

Chain and sprocket were cleaned right then...a costly Regina chain DOES need some further attentions.
The front fender comes from a GS450...only seen on the GT380C model also, maybe never seen out of Japan, a simply bolt on job, I like how it enlight the bike's front end. Dont' you, Craig?

I may eventually put rear-sets on BlueBoy to keep my boots off the road! I want to put BlueBoy on a diet this winter since I will have a shop starting next week to really do some work in.....I'd like to drop 50 pounds (off the bike...I could stand to drop 15....), but I'm not sure that's gonna happen (either one).

Let me know if you want a set. I can guarantee that these are lighter than stock gear. All aluminum, no heavy steel and rubber and no steel brake pedal either.

Id like to drop some more wight off my 550, but I just dont see any more than 10-15lbs. Id love to find a set of aluminum rims for a spoke wheel, ala. the old TX650's. And I could stand to diet myself.
