out of hospital.

Post by johnakay »

hi guys I came home on Saturday after noon.
the operation went well and I will find out in about 2 weeks what the tumor is in my kidney.the next day I had believe it or not I had stake and kidney pie for dinner.I said its not mine is it?
although the nurse's were very good at taking care of me but I found it a little depressing seeing other patients with tubes and things coming out of their bodies.I had a choice. so I decided to suffer at home rather than there.
anyway a part from heavy pain and things I'm doing find.
mobility is vastly reduce. it takes me about 5 minutes to get out of bed and the same getting out of the chair   .
I'll keep you guy informed on how things going in my recovery. johnny

Good to hear you are back home, hope the test results in 2 weeks are good. The first couple weeks are the most frustrating. When I was released after surgery in August, 08, a 3 minute walk wiped me out. Within 2-3 weeks I could walk two miles at a fast pace. By November I could do whatever I wanted, except for shooting a bow, or riding a motorcycle. By this summer, even that was over with, and I put around 5,000 miles on two wheels.

Just do what the doctors say, and you'll do fine.

Glad to hear you're up and about, John. As others posted, take it easy for a while and don't overtax yourself. The world of old bikes still needs your rack-building talents for quite awhile yet......
