The 73 buffalo takes the same carb as the 72, except (naturally) the 73 has a longer slide, hence a slightly taller top cap. It is a 32mm bore carb, as measured at the outlet end where it mounts to the cylinder block. They are independently marked as R, L, C, on the casting by the choke slide (enrichner). Which one is it you need? Is yours missing, or just too far gone.
I can probably help you out, if you can wait for it to come from the great, white north. Let me know. Cheers.

I'm only familiar with the two styles. Short cap and slide on the 72's, and the longer slide on the 73's. Each of the three in a set is slightly different, thats why they are marked left, right, center. I 'll check one of my spares tomorrow and verify. Do you need the whole carb, jetting and all? Cheers.

I went looking and couldnt find the info on the 3 carbs but i am pretty sure that we discovered there are 3 different style 72~73 carbs . If i remenmber right there is a short body flat cap , a tall body flat cap and another that has a tall cap with a short body but a long slide . I bet Gunner still has this info ?
the older i get the faster i was

Mark.
I have a few carbs, and they are all designated with a code on the front of the choke slide chamber like so: 310, above, and 12R, or 12M, or 12L, below. That's looking at the carb from the front ( cylinder side ). The L has the vacuum spigot for the fuel tap, and the idle speed screw on the left. The M has no spigot, and the idle speed screw also on the left. The R has the Idle speed screw on the right. With this info, you should be able to figure out which one you are missing. Then just PM me with your address, and I'll get one off to you ASAP. Cheers.
