just looking for a ballpark figure for a crankshaft seal rebuild of a 73 gt750.
i have done rebore and new pistons on other bikes myself but never had to go further, and it might be best to pay for because of the need of special tools etc.
any help is greatfully accepted.
mark.
still cant start the beast but if in doubt through money at it.
even with new ignition on closer look seems to have weak spark , maybe coils?
thank you everyone in advance.
mark.

Get labor from http://www.billbune.com/services.html
Go to ebay for the seal kit cost.
You probably won't want to do the crank yourself unless you want to spend quite a bit of time.
Good luck, Arne

That's a bit like asking "how long is a piece of string?" . In the US, depending on how lucky you are, I'd guess from about $200 USD for just seal replacement (plus the cost of the seals of course), through to about $900+ USD if it also needs bearings, rods and crank pins Check the link Arne has given as US based folks seem to have had good luck with that outfit. In Canada a seal replacement seems to cost about $400 CDN plus the cost of the seals themselves, and goes up from there.

Bill Bune Enterprises did mine, replaced all of the seals and confirmed the bearings were in great shape - $230 including return UPS to my door. I supplied the seals and included them in the box along with a parts fiche showing exact placement.
If you need bearings or rods - the price goes up. The bearing with the grove is over $100 by itself.
Regards,
Gordon
