Guys, this was not an easy color to match. I paid $157 for a quart of DuPont Chromabase color that I had computer matched. I took it to my painter who called me a few days later and said "color ain't close". Well, he made it match the coolant door perfectly by using a Chromabase and heavy flake, then cleared with 6 coats of colored clear candy coat.

This was taken Saturday just after the last coat of clear. He wanted me to approve - then he says "I've got to buff it to bring the shine out" - I'll need sunglasses!

Very nice Gordon, now you will have to post photos once it's on the bike.

It looks beautiful!!!

Is it wrong that I'm envious of the nicely painted tins (and I don't own a GT750) AND the spacious modern paint booth????

Man that looks nice. Going to have to wear shades after you buff it. ///Pat

With those painted parts topping off what you have done to the rest of the GT750 it is going to be one beautiful L and a sure show winner :D

My, my !!!
That's some fine looking paintwork you've got there, Gordon. It's hard to find painters that know what it takes to do old bike stuff properly, IMO, but it looks like your guy definitely has his act together.
