It was brutal! I walked 9 miles the first day according to our GPS. It was way too hot. We saw one small bull and a few cows, but could never get close enough because thy were up so high due to the heat and the terrain was too steep to climb..
I did manage to get a small 8 point and a doe with my bow here in Texas and we still have about 7 weeks of season left. We have not even had our first frost yet. Bucks are not rutting yet either.

Knee is fine now. It took 6 months from the time of surgery to completely heal, but no problems now. :D :D :D

Good to hear the knee held up. Shame you didn't get an Elk, but going after them with a longbow ain't the easiest proposition. Look on the bright side, just think how much more worn out would you have been after packing out an animal that size.:^)

Any deer with a longbow is a trophy, they have all the advantages.
