Hi, I'm new to the forum, recently acquired a 1972 GT380J model that needs quite a lot of work to get it back on the road. It's a bit tatty but all there, just deciding to go all the way for a full show resto or just keep it fairly original although does need new paint.

I'm now 64, and the daily ride is a 2008 Kawasaki Z750. Worked for Kawasaki and Honda dealers back in the 1970 and 80's. Had a number of two strokes in my youth including yamahas and Kwaka triples.

Hoping the forum members will be able to give me some helpful hints with any snags I come up against during the restoration, which I'm sure there will be.

Welcome…

Lots of good info in some of the historic topics, use the search facility to help.

I did a full nut and bolt on my GT380 and one or two contacts given to me on here were invaluable for services that either didn’t have the skill for (paint) or equipment (crank rebuild).

Good luck
