In today's papers, there's rumours that as well as a Christmas turkey shortage, there will be a shortage of presents to buy and give away too.
Can't see a problem with either, as we usually have pork joints and I don't buy stuff to give away.
Problems solved.

The major shipping ports in the US are jam-packed with container ships waiting to get unloaded. The supply chain is so backed up that major retailers are spending serious $$$$ to charter smaller cargo ships to get their goods for Christmas.
Made my first Christmas gift purchase yesterday. Finding the correct gift (if you shop for kids, you know what I mean) is likely going to be a PITA if you wait too long.
