There was an airbox on ebay for that bike, i bet its still there. I wouldl never part out a complete bike, its just a shame to do that UNLESS its got a major issue.
If you dont want it then at least get it running and sell it to make a profit or at least break even,,,,
Price is subjective to many things ,so ill take a guess at what you paid, you got it for $300.00????

I think I may have an airbox for that bike. I think thats all I have.
Ian got everything else for his 74 project. The airbox I have is the early
style that should be appropriate for your K model. All it'll cost you is
shipping, if your interested. Cheers.

I'm going to try to get it running and see how I like it.I bought that airbox on ebay for 10 bucks.Hope 380's and 550's really are the same.I bought it for $200 so I figured I couldn't go wrong.

I hope you're OK with your airbox purchase. 380 carbs are approx. 1/2" closer together than the 550, so they are not interchangable in either direction. Throat size may be different also, but I'm not sure. Also keep in mind that a L-B airbox will not fit the earlier J-K models.
If it's wrong you will know right away. You may need to take Fred up on his offer.
$200? The pipes alone are worth that PROVIDING the baffle plates aren't rusted out. How many miles and how was it stored??

DJ, for 2 bills you won't get hurt....if it turns over and has decent compression. For whatever reason, 550's aren't as "desirable" as Buffaloes and 380's but they're still great bikes, IMO.
Besides, yours is in the original Grace Lime Metallic and it looks like that tank may come back nicely with a little rubbing compound and some elbow grease. That colour was our biggest seller back in the day.....until the red L model (like Ian's) came out a year later.
A hot rod, she ain't....but as a nice 70's stroker that's stone ax reliable she succeeds admirably. Just remember that she hits reserve around 80-90 miles....if you're not too hard on the loud handle.

I detect a bit of diehard 550 sentiments there from Uncle Rick,, after all hes the one with the best looking 76 ive ever seen, trust me on this its outstanding in the flesh.
So i guessed $300.00 and you got it for $200.00? thats a STEAL in any mans terms. Those pipes look very decent as well and are worth more than the whole bike in its present condition.
