Wow, where the hell did you find that? Do you know when it was imported to Canada?

I lived in Copenhagen for 5 years and saw plenty of Nimbuses (Nimbii?) there, as you'd expect, but I can't imagine many were sold overseas ... for example, I've NEVER seen one in the UK.

Thank you all ! The bike was imported into Canada in 2001, and I know of four others up here - there must be a few more, but likely not more than a dozen, In the USA I think there may be as many as a 100. Of the 12,000 of this model made between 1934 and 1960, at least 4000 are still on the road globally. I will eventually have a few more photos up on my web site (and - no - I will not be changing the site name  ) as I get it sorted out. It runs well, but is a bit tired and needs some TLC.

Some additional photos - note the frame was made from riveted flat bar steel, and the exposed valve springs. The engine is an overhead cam, in-line air cooled four displacing 746cc and when new put out perhaps 20 HP - this one probably has a few less :D :

Something else to play with in my spare time at any rate ! 8)

So quick question... full bore restore or leave it patinated with a tweak the weak parts? The hubs look like they've been through full restoration but that engine is just beautiful in its age-lines...

It will be left alone, other than for any required mechanical repairs.

It wears its age well, and is a hoot to ride ! :D SWMBO'd climbed into the sidecar for a 45 minute tour of the local area the other day - I have to pick and choose the roads, as the top speed is about 75 kph (roughly 45 mph) - it will amble along all day in top gear (it's a 3 speed) at 60 kph/40 mph. The only thing you have to pay attention to is stopping distances, as braking is a tad leisurely ! 8)
