Wow, where the hell did you find that? Do you know when it was imported to Canada?
I lived in Copenhagen for 5 years and saw plenty of Nimbuses (Nimbii?) there, as you'd expect, but I can't imagine many were sold overseas ... for example, I've NEVER seen one in the UK.

Re: And now for something completely different !
Thank you all ! The bike was imported into Canada in 2001, and I know of four others up here - there must be a few more, but likely not more than a dozen, In the USA I think there may be as many as a 100. Of the 12,000 of this model made between 1934 and 1960, at least 4000 are still on the road globally. I will eventually have a few more photos up on my web site (and - no - I will not be changing the site name ) as I get it sorted out. It runs well, but is a bit tired and needs some TLC.
Some additional photos - note the frame was made from riveted flat bar steel, and the exposed valve springs. The engine is an overhead cam, in-line air cooled four displacing 746cc and when new put out perhaps 20 HP - this one probably has a few less :
Something else to play with in my spare time at any rate !

Nice one Ian, you really must have too much time on your hands!!!!!!
Think of how stupid the average person is, then realise that half of them are more stupid than that.

Re: And now for something completely different !
So quick question... full bore restore or leave it patinated with a tweak the weak parts? The hubs look like they've been through full restoration but that engine is just beautiful in its age-lines...
Slow and steady may win the race, but without loud and fast it's just a waste

It will be left alone, other than for any required mechanical repairs.celt_rock wrote:So quick question... full bore restore or leave it patinated with a tweak the weak parts?
It wears its age well, and is a hoot to ride ! SWMBO'd climbed into the sidecar for a 45 minute tour of the local area the other day - I have to pick and choose the roads, as the top speed is about 75 kph (roughly 45 mph) - it will amble along all day in top gear (it's a 3 speed) at 60 kph/40 mph. The only thing you have to pay attention to is stopping distances, as braking is a tad leisurely !
