Huh?

Post by pjmcburney »

Can anyone shed light on this?

Image

I found this picture in my Owner's Manual on page 62 where they describe how to check for spark (hence the plug resting on the head), but what's with that shape of that head?

It look like the rest of the motor is a GT750, but no GT750 head I've ever seen is shaped like that or has that method of securing around the thermostat housing... is this a split head?

Paul it's a heavily touched up picture of teh Split head which was supplied on some JDM bikes. Suzukidave knows more about them that I do and he has one.

Shannon sold one about a year or so ago, I think he ended up getting about US$250 for it, and Martin Krause sold one just a little while ago - it went for about US$300 and he included the longer head bolts as part of the 'kit'.

Both these sales were open auctions, so it's anybody's guess where things are at the moment.

But, keep it in mind... I want to put one on my L for the coolness/novelty factor.
