good point radman. Any FI system set up by a manufacturer to meet certain emission and mileage criteria is going to be set up a different way than the owner who wants performance at all costs.
It's all about compromise and the compromise many of us want is power first second and third, but the OEMs ca't sell us a fuel map set for power maximization because it is generally richer than the low emission/low consumption map.
Power Commander and other piggyback systems are another set of compromises. rather than re-mapping the whole map as well as the adjustments for cold/hot running etc, they simply tweak either the inputs or the outputs to "lie" to the ECM. That richens up the mixture but often at a cost elsewhere in the range.
A much better solution would be a fully programmable ECM (like a MicroSquirt but more complex) that could be tweaked with a tool such as the TuneBoy from Australia. That and a SAGEM or MoteC or Wolf system would be the right answer.
Hey Neville, how come all the best aftermarket EFI stuff in the world comes from Australia?

well
I'm not sure about that....anyway if anything goes wrong........www.ozebook.com will always be there while I am still kicking and it won't take long for me to put a free board up there. In fact I'll put a backup one there now.....just a starter one for now. Save the url so you can always use it to communicate if there any problems.

Backup forum
I'm sure Zooke is just distracted for now.

well
well this a funny sort of thread.....especially as we are talking about a T500 which is not exactly a high stressed hot running bike.
being a twin with nice big fins it gets quite ample cooling for it's low revs and modest power.
On the track the aircooled Titan is so much faster for the first couple of laps and then it warms up and loses a few horsies.
We don't ride around the IOM or do 200 mile Daytonas so the use of water cooling is hardly worth the effort.
For the road we never approach the sort of temperatures to make it an issue.

Got home safely.... found a master link (of all places a Big R farm and ranch store) and had a wonderful time.... figured I went about 1300 miles total and spent about $150 on gas.... I will be looking for a more comfortable seat for future long rides (I have lost all the cushion in my arse as I've gotten older) but I could see a trip to the gap happening on the buffalo.... just as a side note, I rarely submit to this and the kawi forums but I do read and learn from the posts and really appreciate the knowledge and skills of the people here so THANKS TO ALL.....

I don't have any pictures right now as the computer crashed this week but I do have a link to the windshield I have.... I got this from one of the guys on this board a couple years ago....TLRam1 wrote:Do you have photos of your Buffalo? Are you using a windshield, if so what type?
