Allens trip to Canada

Post by Suzsmokeyallan »

Well its been a while since posting anything and the times have been interesting to say the least.
Its no IBA ride but i did manage to put 2000 miles onto the Buffalo in less than three weeks (not riding everyday) so im doing ok.
Allen showed up with Bobbi as you all saw from his Flickr photos and he had a bit of relaxation and some bike cleaning/repair while in Canada.
His bike ended up needing a new back tyre and a fix to his rr brake arm that was sticking and a good wash of the road bugs etc, then he was good to go again.
On his last day i took him for a ride out west on a part of the Trans Canada Hwy, then we turned into the Kananaskis region and over the Highwood pass. Its approx 2200 metres high at the summit in the Kananaskis Country Prov park and has some great mountain scenic views.
The day started out resonably ok but then it turned cold and rainy at the summit with a run down the slope in pouring rain. Luckily it cleared up by the time we got into Longview where we had lunch at the Twin Cities hotel.
Usually the place is packed with bikers but on the day we were there it was nearly a ghost town.
I then saw them off to the High River junction where they were heading back to the US via Hwy2 and into Montana.
Allen youre welcome back anytime,,,,,, its great to have you in town.. Do you care for a return visit in 2010??

Heres a few pics taken at the Longview hotel.
