speaking of a washed out summer!
Just got the results of an MRI on my left shoulder. It ain't good. Badly torn rotator cuff, evidence of a fracture (probably due to a fall on ice in 1987) that had led to some minor arthritis along with some damaged tendons, ligaments, etc. Probably have surgery two weeks from today.
Be pretty much sidelined for 6-9 weeks, maybe longer.
They said the shoulder will be much better when its over but that it will never be 100%.
Getting old sucks!
Not getting old really sucks!!

Damn Wayne hate to hear that. Not to metion the bike riding issues, gonna put a crimp on your bowhunting for this fall, huh?? Just do what they say, and work hard at the rehab. Remember, they opened me completely up for heart replumbing last summer. I had to pass on both the bikes and the bowhunting last fall. This summer I'm riding and shooting again, probubly better than before the repairs..

Actually, I elected to have it now becasue it is 100*F with heat indexes around 105, and will probably be that way for the next 8-10 weeks. It's too hot to do anything anyway.
I bowhunt in the fall and hopefully, will be back to shooting in time for that.
Riding ain't too comfortable right now either.

Only a two week wait for elective surgery ? That's amazing - clearly you do not live in Alberta ......... wait times here are often 6 months, and for some types of procedures over a year. My knee repair for example, took eight months while I hobbled around using a cane. Only the critical (as in you'll die if it doesn't happen) stuff happens fast up here.Wayne Meuir wrote:Probably have surgery two weeks from today.

My son is a Radiologist and works for the Surgeon, so I have an inside track. Could have had it done next week except I have to get clearance from my Cardiologist before I can be taken off the blood thinner.
Hopefully, this will go well. I WILL follow the Docs instructions and do exactly what I am supposed to do to rehabilitate it.
