Any spam posts are deleted as soon as they are noticed so don't bother. It also means that the poster's details are deleted and anything else they might have put on their registration.
New 'members' are approved by the moderators, and sometimes a dud gets through, but most are weeded out straight away. Dodgy emails or ip addresses are flagged and noted too.
To all genuine posters, please say a quick 'hello' in your 1st post. Just who you are, where you are (town or general area will do) and a bit of your previous biking experience.
And last but certainly not least, 2020 hasn't been great, but hopefully 2021 will be better, so best seasonal wishes to all.
