new bike!

after much thought and talk with my good lady ,we came to a conclusion which way we should go as regarding Bike.
I didn't want a Bike that I have to spend loads to restored and spend to long polishing
so we thought the best thing to is to stick to new stuff so I bought a Honda NC700X DCT ABS.
it had a good right up etc 70 mpg plus.
took one for a test ride and it ticked all the right box's.
as for comfort it the best so far,it seems that Honda has made this bike for me.
yep I got the lazy man's bike Auto gears.
did an hour test with my wife on the back and I felt right at home ,
OK its no sport bike but she's no slouch either.
it has 3 modes,drive, sports, and manual. no doubt some of you will know this.

Interesting review too. Funny how it mentions that the bike has been criticised by some testers. because it will "only do just over 100mph". In the UK, on the vast majority of roads, over 100mph is WAAYY too fast, given the psychotic drivers, suicidal sheep and other hazards. Also, hanging onto a naked bike at 100 is a strain for any rider.

there's no left hand levers or gear stick on the Auto but on a geared bike there is.
the Auto have 3 modes ..drive(economical),sport mode for over taking and fun ride through the twisty. and manual...
this using your thumb and finger this I don't see any point in having.
hopefully I'll get some miles in. my old bike ER6F I couldn't get the hang of it.
during the 4 years ownership I've only done 4665 miles.
it almost killed my biking.if it wasn't for my wife telling me to give one more chance and get the seat redone,
I might not have been riding today.
I was going to get ride of all my gear and buy a better car.
this bike NC is plenty fast enough for me.
I don't take notice of tester opinions if the bike doesn't do break neck speed then its shite!!
when we were young a 100 mph was a magic no....

MotorCycleNews reckon the auto in sport mode is VERY quick from a standing start .... about as fast to 70mph as a modern sports 600, which is F-A-S-T.

You should be able to leave them all behind at the traffic light GP

Currently Honda only sells two versions in the US, but that might change.
Probably would sell more if they also had the intermediate model with manual gear box + abs.

I was at one time leaning towards the preceding model NT700V. The built in fairing and saddle bags looked like it work for my riding style. But having to remove all that body work every 5000 miles for, get this two stroke fans, VALVE adjustments!!!! For right now I will stick with my GT500.

Valves, let's see how to put it????? They look like upside down metal flowers that control fuel/air flow into an engine and exhaust gases. Controlling them is a mass of increasingly heavy parts that spin, make jumpy up and down motions. They move very fast, make a clicking noise, extra gear noise, sometimes use a chain to spin something called a camshaft. Looks like it was made by a drunk machinist! I am, not sure just how all this jumpin',spinning, and extra weight makes a motor go, don't even see a oil injector tank anywhere.......
