purchase from Crooks in the UK when you are in the US
Am in the US and am planning on getting a few parts from Crooks in the UK.
Their online order system does not appear to be setup for ordering from the US.
Do I need to place a phone order? Or can I use the online system?

You need to call them up and explain what you wish to do. I had no problems when I ordered my grab rail/rack for the Buffalo, it all went rather smoothly.

A possible alternative: I've bought from these guys in the UK. They seem to carry a good range of stuff and there's no problem shipping to the US:

No shame on me John, I WANTED a factory grab rail/rack, the price was very good and I got it immediately.

Re: purchase from Crooks in the UK when you are in the US
the so called genuine Rails and Racks are no longer or were made by Suzuki.
they were sourced from outside, just had Suzuki bar codes etc labels.
like peter has said in previous post.
thats why some parts don't quite fit correctly. how do I know you may ask.
well I get emails asking me if I will just move this brkt or that....
once I give them a price they baulked.
the silly buggers think just because I make them they think I will do things for next to nowt.its the same with some folks on this forum to.
but I do know the Brit humour very well.?? really
(No shame on me John, I WANTED a factory grab rail/rack, the price was very good and I got it immediately.)
as for price Crooks Suzuki show no favours to any one like all business's they have to make money.
they currently sell the GT750
RAIL £102.67
RACK £111.22 the postage will be a killer last time it was around £40!(Rack)
but since then the Royal mail have put the cost up by 30%
any way judging by the cost from the USA most item's incur cost of £36 up if its a bigger item like a Rack.
my rails @£70 ,post £18.50 = £88.50
my rack @£95 ,post £26.50 = ££121.50
my racks are exactly the same as SUZUKI now I can now use 1/2" tubing for the main frame and support arms and cross members 10mm round bar.
the bottom line is no one can beat me on price and if they can they wont last

Re: purchase from Crooks in the UK when you are in the US
Thanks for your insight on the matter John, the thing is people always complain about the postage. If its coming from the UK to 'over the pond' you can expect to pay more anyways, so as a potential buyer either deal with it or move on, its a fact of life in these situations.
So now for example, I'll ask you this, if someone asks you to make a rail/rack for a GT750 right now, how long will it take for them to get it from you.
If Crooks are putting Suzuki parts labels on non OEM racks or rails that will be considered a form of fraud and they can be sued by Suzuki. Does anyone have proof to this fact because here say is not any form of proof and Crooks have a lot to loose in a legal battle over it.
The unit I got from Crooks was even cheaper than the one I bought about four years ago. Simply because in that case scenario I had to buy it on ebay from the seller called Suzukidave in the UK, then have it shipped to Florida. Then once it was there, have it shipped on to Calgary.
In this case the total price went a over $ 200.00 US in total, and again it must be stated, you want it a certain way, you have got to pay more to get it your way.

I didn't say Crooks were putting labels on so called none original parts.
I was merely saying that SUZUKI never actually produce the rack's and rails.
like most companies they just stick their own label on.
of course it was made to their specs etc
no doubt Crooks will have a good relationship with suzuki as they were one of the 1st importers(Heron Suzuki GB) and continue to do so.
as for the GT750 rails etc I've seen them for sale in the USA to but that was quite awhile ago.
also P.Miller did sell a couple of T500 grab rails claiming no's and new!
yes you probably would get the bits quicker from crooks than me as I make over 30 types rails and being a one man operator I can't cater for all but usually I can have a part made/chromed and ready to ship in 2 weeks.

woah steady on Peter lad I never mention FRAUD!PEDRO wrote:How the hell do you come up with FRAUD either of you, let me repeat FACT all tubular fitments for suzuki's grab rails, crash bars etc supplied by SUZUKI GB in the seventies were made by Harland and Wolfe shipyard FOR SUZUKI GB so hows that fraud??? I am buggered if I know who makes them now for them, some one in china I suspect.
just copied and pasted what Allan stated.

thanks for the info grumps. I'll be able to blab as an expert on rails now
