Has anyone ever tried this product or anything like it to remove fine scratches and haze from helmet face shields?

Re: Helmet Shield Scratch Remover
I've used Meguiars Plast-X with great results, It works well on helmet visors, windshield visors, indicator lenses, tail lamp lenses and of course plastic headlamps.

I bought their No.1 & 2 products and am happy that they work as claimed. The No.2 scratch remover really helped on the wind shield of my sports bike.

Re: Helmet Shield Scratch Remover
The reason I had bought the Plas-X in the first place was to try saving a badly scuffed 900RR windshield. I was suspicious if anything could work on this piece without hours of sanding and buffing in the traditional way, but I was willing to give this a try.The No.2 scratch remover really helped on the wind shield of my sports bike.
After the first application and hearing how it worked on the surface like sandpaper I was even more skeptical if it would not end up looking smooth but perpetually hazy.
The windshiled was restored to like new condition and I was very impressed so I reused it and put the new one I had bought aside.
I even found out it can remove the small surface issues on plastic painted panels such as side covers/fairings etc.
This happened by chance when I was cleaning up a panel I got from eBay and thought it looked great until I checked it under a florescent light. Those little surface lines only seen at certain angles under certain light conditions left by waxes and cream cleaners were gone by using the Plas-X.
The thing is they tell you not to use it on PAINT but the stuff works great on it with no ill effects so go figure.

Re: Helmet Shield Scratch Remover
I saw the Plast-X at the store, thought about getting it but didn't. The product on ebay, the seller has a one time use #1, 2 and 3 packet option for $3. I decided to try that to see how it works. #1 is a polish, 2 is for light scratches and 3 is for deep scratches. I should have it this week.

Re: Helmet Shield Scratch Remover
I got the polish and scratch remover today. I picked up the $3 one that has a small packet of each product. I used the cleaner and the fine scratch remover and I am very impressed. It made my shield very clear and did remove the light scratches on it. When I look at it now, it appears that there isn't a shield on the helmet. It is that clear. Also, bugs come off with just a light brush with my finger with no signs of anything being there before. The $3 item with free shipping is a can't go wrong purchase if you have a shield that is cloudy or lightly scratched. I'm very pleased with the result.
