My 73 GT550 neutral switch does not work properly.. If you put it in neutral the light does not come on, but if you move the lever downward, just before it clicks into first gear and hold it, the light will come on... Since there is no adjustment when it is bolted to the engine is there a repair/fix if I remove it to look for?
Thanks.

Re: GT550 neutral switch
Remove the little black cover and look at the contactor tab on the end of the selector drum to see if the screw has slackened or the tab is bent out of shape. Its really a simple design so somethings simply out of alignment.
Two strokes, its just that simple.
