another T500.....

Post by johnakay »

I emailed this chap and made an offer.
he live just 20 miles from me.
I've seen the bike at the show recently and he wanted £2450.
its on eBay for £2340 and he said if I can come down with £2200 cash I can have it!
the paint work is an absolute gem. cant find a fault with it.
who ever did has done a brilliant job!
so smooth you can hardly feel the edging of the decals.
for another £150 in bits the bike will be complete to my liking.
chrome is not pefect but good never the less. so what do you guys think?

Looks nice John   , although I notice that it hasn't been registered, MOT'd etc. Not sure if that would be any concern at all.

Is that the candy gypsy red color they used on the '74 T500L? I know the US models could have different paint colors but as far as I knew the '73 came in candy blue and a candy magenta color. The gypsy red is really nice on this machine.

yes I know.
will ask him it will need to be registering before I'll give £2200 as for the mot if every is thing working it will pass or I will make it pass.
if any chroming needs doing I can get it done cheaply unlike my last bike.
from what I can remember all it will need cosmetically is a handle bar/ mirrors.
just emailed the guy and said for that kind of money I would at least expected it to be registered and mot. so I'll just bid my time, thanks.
so I'll see what he says if does say any thing that is.
no great rush on my part I'm sure something will turn up.

Peter(Pedro) is sorting a gt500 out, he going to get it up and running etc.
but it will need doing up,this was going to be his own bike but doesn't have the time to do it.. so I'll see what he will come up with.
I'm not going to rush into things.

well I can thank my youngest son for this.he has persuaded me to go ahead.I did paid a visit to my local bike shop this morning.to see what I get and how much I needed to buy a w800.
my son said get the bike, you've been wanting one for long enough!
and its cheaper than buying a new one.what if you get numb bum on that one..wasted all that money then!
so I've decided to go ahead and buy this bike,
going down on Wednesday to pay the deposit.
he will register and mot it for £2300.
after seeing loads of other crap T500's going for nearly a £1000 mark and weighing up the cost to restore .
I think it would be better to buy this one.
this will be my main bike as I'm selling my er6f.
just cant get used to the seating and I don't want to spend any more money on it. the money I'll get for this will go towards a newer car next year. once I get it I will post better pics etc.
