Face shield question

Post by jkevinlilly »

I use an HJC CL-MAX helmet. I was going to order a replacement faceshield. I normally use a regular clear shield since I care a lot more about seeing everything, over how others see me, especially once it gets dark. :)

But I have found I can get a regular shield for around $23, or a dual lens for about ten bucks more. Anybody have experiance with these??

I figure the main advantage with a dual lens is it "should" not fog up as bad in the rain as a single lens one, just like a double pane window does not fog up under the same conditions that a single pane window does.

But I could be wrong :)

Hi Kevin,

My Shoei has the it's version called "pinlock" and it does provide a fog free visor even in severe wet/humid conditions. You may find that it's periphery intrudes into your normal standard visor sight line, about the only downside I can think of.
